This year the 2019 Involvement Fair be held in conjunction with “Imagine the Possibilities,” the Student Celebration for our new president, Dr. Hilary L. Link. The Student Celebration and Involvement Fair will be Thursday, August 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. around the Gator Quad. Table space can only be guaranteed if your group is registered before Monday, August 26, by 5 p.m.

Every Halloween the Town of Boone hosts this community tradition in downtown Boone. The fun starts at 4:00 PM at the Watauga County Library with games and arts & crafts and a haunted tour of the Jones House Cultural and Community Center where children can enjoy tricks and treats around every corner. Trick-or-Treating with the downtown Boone merchants begins at 5:00 PM and concludes at6:00 PM. Come out and enjoy a fun, safe, and silly Halloween with your friends in downtown Boone.

These events are free and open to the public.
Be sure to bring a blanket and/or chairs. You may also want to bring bug spray, a flash light and umbrella – just in case.
Alcohol, smoking, and unleashed pets are prohibited.
Assorted food vendors will be on hand selling snacks and beverages.
In case of inclement weather, the movie screenings may be relocated to Flaherty Park Community Center, 1226 N. White St. Updated information will be posted on the Town’s website, Nextdoor site and Facebook page and available by calling the Wake Forest Weather Line at 919-435-9569.

The 2019 Appalachian State University Homecoming Parade will take place on Friday, October 18th, at 7:00 p.m. The parade will travel along King Street in downtown Boone. The Town of Boone and Appalachian State are working together to ensure the safety of all guests and to keep traffic disruption to a minimum. Visitors to downtown will be able to park in any of the Town of Boone public parking lots, or on King Street. For optimal parking and parade-viewing sights, please arrive in downtown no later than 6:15 p.m. Streets will close just prior to the parade step off at 7:00 p.m. All traffic lanes through downtown will remain open until that time.

Nestled in the shadow of Cold Mountain in Waynesville, North Carolina, The HART Theatre, founded in 1984, is a semi-professional community theatre and has been showcasing the talents of the people of the region and beyond in over 350 productions for the past 35 beautiful years.
