Cirque Du Floyd: Floyd, VA @ Chantilly Farm

This August, local and regional performance artists will converge at Chantilly Farm for the second annual Cirque du Floyd. Two days of excitment and intrigue in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains!

From New York to North Carolina, Cirque du Floyd showcases some of the best names in regional circus arts through performances and workshops.

The circus is for everyone, and we invite you to explore with all of your senses what you really love about this unique art form! Circus arts are making a comeback around the world, as modern cirque elements marry with more traditional circus arts.

We’re embracing the old with the new at Cirque du Floyd, celebrating and sharing the history and tradition of the old circus, while exposing you to the dazzling and marvelous realms of the new.

Last year featured a wide variety of unique performance artists from around the region that included magicians, jugglers, clowns, contortionists, acrobats, fire dancers, hoopers, living statues, interactive aerial storytelling acts, local musicians and more. Our 2018 production will be even more exciting and your ticket includes all Friday night programming as well!

You won’t want to miss this chance to experience and interact with all things circus at Cirque du Floyd 2018!

Crafts, local food, beer and wine lounge, sideshow stage and roaming performances will be back, along with more outdoor fun and expanded workshops.

Plan on camping with us for the weekend so you can really let your hair down and experience the ageless fun of Cirque du Floyd! Camping reservations for both tents and RV’s should be made through the Chantilly Farm Campground by visiting www.chantillyfarm.com or calling (540)808-4984.

ALL TICKETS ALLOW YOU TO ATTEND THE EVENT ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

Parking: A small fee will be charged for event parking and proceeds will benefit local civic groups.

Rain or shine. No pets unless leashed at your campsite. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating during the main stage performances. No outside alcohol will be permitted in the main event area.

What does HOME mean to you?

“Is it in the streets, fields, and forests where you grew up? Or does it rest in the warm embrace of a loved one after a long day? Of all the places we plant our roots, few things bring us HOME in our hearts like music. The strum of a guitar, the beat of a drum, the echoing chorus of a favorite song… Music holds a way of guiding us to a place of inner peace, joy and sanctuary unlike anything in this world. For 24 years, LEAF has thrived as a community born of friendships, memories, and cultural celebration.. and for the 47th LEAF, we will take that legacy one step further welcoming artists from nations who find their homes in great peril, yet despite all odds continue to share their music, message, and medicine with us all. Join us this FALL where three generations of families hailing from the four corners of the Globe will gather to celebrate the power of music & arts to “Bring Us Home” as ONE Family once again.“

Me Fine Gala: Raleigh, NC @ City Club Raleigh

Each year, thousands of children are sent to Duke Children’s Hospital, the North Carolina Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill, and WakeMed Children’s Hospital. For many of these kids and their caregivers, diagnosis with a critical or terminal illness impacts them indefinitely. Their lives are thrown into permanent chaos. In addition to the unfathomable emotional burdens that now face these families, the costs of being treated become immense as they often helplessly watch their financial lives unravel.

The Me Fine Foundation exists so that these children and their families will not walk through their journeys of disease alone. Me Fine provides critical financial assistance and vital emotional support. Our programs are designed to keep families together so that children can have the best chance for recovery possible. No insurance plan will help provide what Me Fine does, which is why support from community members like you is so important!

The Annual Me Fine Gala is their signature fundraising event. The organization receives no funding from federal, state or local government. They rely totally on the generosity of our donors and corporate partners and on the success of this event.

If you want to help fight for these medically fragile children, believe in the work they’re doing, and want to see stronger families making for a better community, please consider being a part of this event!
